5 coats that will make you wish winter was forever

Britain seems to be on the receiving end of continually crap weather - freezing temperatures, rainy downpours and I don't think I've seen a blue sky this year. But no fear, as I have compiled a list of the ten best coats that will make winter F-U-N.
1. If money were no object - Shrimps River Coat in Blue; £695
Well howdy, you could definitely root 'n' toot in this scrumptious checked number. The baby blue faux fur detailing on the cuffs, collar and hemline scream 'Cinderella-extravaganza' while the double breasted detailing and waist belt gives an elegant silouhette.
2. Wanna feel seen this season? & Other Stories Wool Blend Belted Oversized Jacket; £165
I never thought I'd be tempted by a shacket (love the word, hope to use it more frequently), but this bold fuchsia wool offering from & Other Stories is perfect - oversized to fit any chunky jumper underneath and I love the Obi-style belt and silver buttons. A versatile piece in a colour that works all year round.
3. For walks along Hampstead Heath (or any hill with a view) - Weekday Robin Puffer Jacket; £125
I can tell what's going to happen if you wear this coat. You will immediately head to the nearest field/hill/forest with a dog (preferably several) clutching onto a flask of hot chocolate and have a very fulfilling ramble; comforted by the voluminous padding of this coat juxtaposing the freezing weather outside. Are you sold yet? 4. If you want to make a statement - Stand Studio Riley Coat; 2450 SEK (GBP £199)
Stand Studio is a label that has so many bold, daring and beautifully made coats that I truly could fill this list with ten pieces from the Swedish brand alone. This Riley coat is the perfect addition to any wardrobe; and if you're someone who usually opts for all black everything (I see you); this could be the piece that coaxes you out of your gothic slumber. 5. The 70's called, it wants to gift you this GORGEOUS jacket - Topshop Tan PU Reptile Coat; £79
Faux reptile print is proving incredibly popular this season and Topshop are delivering on the latest trend. The pointed collar keeps this jacket looking sharp while the buttons only going down to the waist allows for maximum swishing capacity. Wear with cropped jeans, ankle boots and a plain top - let the coat do the talking, baby.
